The early years of my arborist career were in hands-on, production tree work. I’ve been a groundman, foreman, crew leader, climber, utility forester, inventory arborist, sales arborist and tree work supervisor. I have also worked for a paycheck in sawmills, lumber yards and logging operations. I have taught chainsaw safety and trained technical fellers. I have flown buckets, cabled and braced, sprayed pesticides, driven skidders and log loaders, graded lumber, built trails, felled timber and plowed snow. I have been employed by residential/commercial tree companies, electric utilities, municipalities, and park services, and I have owned and operated successful businesses going back to the late 1980s.

Tree service providers must close tree work sales and keep their assets billable or they will go out of business. I do not offer any tree services. I am independent, and my only goal is to give you the information and guidance you need to resolve your tree concerns. I won’t prospect you, or try to upsell you services unrelated to your question.

The more challenging your tree problem, the more likely that adding a qualified consulting arborist to your team, on an as-needed basis, is a wise decision. A qualified independent consulting arborist carries their own liability insurance, allowing you to manage risk and costs to the advantage of your organization.
